- Hydration is key
Drink lots of water. Keep your body hydrated every day to maintain healthy skin and nails. It is recommended that you drink at least 1 1/2 litres a day. - Protect Yourself
Always wear a minimum SPF 15 all year round. Ideally use a moisturiser that includes the SPF in its formulation. Don’t forget that products usually once opened will only be effective as an SPF for the first 12 months. If in doubt, check the packaging. - Cleanse, Tone, Moisturise, Sleep
Remember to always take off your makeup at night. Might seem obvious, but so many people forget. - Maximise each Product
Cut your product tubes in half when they are empty, you’ll be surprised how much product is hiding inside. - Cold is good
Store nail polish in the refrigerator to maintain a smooth consistency. - Scrub that!
Take care not to use body scrubs on your face, they are too coarse. Pick up a specially formulated one for the face. Dermalogica do a great Daily Microfoliant, available with us in the salon. - Don’t give away the game
If you want to apply a fake tan at home, before that big night out, don’t forget to use protective gloves, so you can avoid tanned hands. No one wants hands that don’t match the colour of other parts!
Semi Permanent Make Up
This is a form of cosmetic tattooing which doesn’t wash off. Once a month, Emma Jardine who is a Semi Permanent Make-Up and Medical Technician, visits the salon to treat our clients. She is able to permanently tattoo eyebrows, eyeliner or lips to give greater definition to your features. Before treatment, Emma offers a consultation where she talks you through the treatment and gives advice on the best shape, style or colour for you. The treatment takes approximately one hour, and will require another one or two treatments for the full look to be achieved.
Imagine waking up each morning with your make up done!
The results last for months (more often than not, years) and slowly fade over time. Using the same techniques, Emma can hide stretch marks and camouflage areas of pigmentation. She can also lighten and remove tattoos.

Interested in Anti-Ageing Injections and fillers?
As we grow older, the natural collagen found in the skin diminishes. The collagen is what gives the structure and support to the skin. When that starts to disappear, crows’ feet, wrinkles and folds will develop. Dermal fillers are anti-aging injectable treatments which offer a way to lift the wrinkle out, making it appear softened, or less obvious. They are very versatile products which can be used with other anti-aging treatments such as wrinkle relaxing injections.
